Hot Salsa Dance Group with Albert Torres

Hot Salsa Dance Company was founded in 1999 by Greg Henry "The Salsaman". Hot Salsa Hawaii Dance Company currently has 17 ProDancers and four students in the Student performance group. The Student performance group are dancers still in training to become a pro dancer. Dancers practice five times a week and perform once a month on Oahu. There are two mainland performances a year. One salsa dance performance is in San Francisco in November and one salsa dance performance is in Los Angeles during the Memorial Day weekend. Hot Salsa Dance Company also performs at the Hawaii Salsa Festival in Feburary and the Hawaii Salsathon in June. Students wanting to join the Hot Salsa Hawaii Dance Company must sign a membership agreement and commit to 14 practices during a 6 month probation period.

Training Group: These are company members who are still learning and developing the skills to perform with the Hot Salsa Dancers. This group was developed to allow dancers to be a part of the group. In-training members will be expected to attend all practices. Promotion to the next level will be at the decision of Greg the director. And it will be based on proven commitement to the group as well as developed performance skills. These dancers are also expected to represent the dance company and perform intermediate level routines. All training group dances must take aerials training and pay the $50 legal fee and sign a waiver.

Hot Salsa Dance Group: This group is for dancers who have proven performance skills. HSDG have mastered dancing on "1" and on "2", timing, spinning, advanced leading and following technique. HSDG represent all group dancers through performance and attitude. HSDG are responsible for practicing 5 hours a week or more and are required to attend additional practices in order to prepare for upcoming performances.
